By following Parents’ Rights in Education, I have gained the confidence to stand up for what is right in my school district and protect my daughter’s education. As more parents stand up and take note, we will collectively be able to change the course of education in America. Thank you, Parents’ Rights!

As a grandparent, I strongly believe it is vital for baby boomers to take this issue on. Mostly retired, we have the time to educate ourselves and learn the truth whereas our children are far too busy with their lives and careers, and family. Parents today run the risk of being bullied by school officials and being ostracized by other parents which they fear could negatively affect their children at school. We must be the voice of common sense and crusaders of strong academic curriculums.

Hello,
I could use some guidance involving the curriculum in my son’s 7th grade English Learning Arts class. Within the curriculum, there is sexually suggestive and inappropriate content. Examples include the words: petting, grinding (in the context of dancing), and french kissing. These words have no place in any curriculum for minors, and as parents, we have expressed our objections. What would you recommend as my next step in this matter?

Despite my request to my daughter’s school to exempt her from all class content and activities related to sex education, she was given a form by her 6th-grade science teacher that contained content related to sexual matters and activities. My daughter showed me the form from school, and it was the one we have to fill out at her doctor’s office that requires my signature at the bottom as her parent/guardian. The school did not notify me, nor did they have my consent to collect medical and private information about my daughter. The school completely neglected my right, and authority, over my child’s education.

Dear Parents’ Rights in Education,
I am reaching out to share my experience with my son’s elementary school and its refusal to be transparent with parents. My child is in 4th grade, and I became aware that he attended a sexual harassment assembly with guest speakers from an LGBTQ center when he came home asking questions about the assembly. I had no idea this subject was going to be discussed because the school never informed us as parents. I emailed the principal right away and requested a list of the future assembly topics, so I could either speak to my son about them beforehand or decide if he was not ready to learn about that subject and needed to stay home. The principal denied my request. I then presented the principal with a Freedom Of Information Act Request for the list of remaining assemblies the school had scheduled and their topics. I am awaiting a reply. The refusal to provide the list of assemblies has created distrust in the school, not just from me, but from other parents as well. It also makes me wonder what else the school is hiding from parents.
