Politicalization of Education

Parents’ Rights In Education opposes the politicization of school curricula, and policy. By law, public schools are to remain politically neutral/unbiased, however increasingly, schools utilize material derived from Marxist doctrine. Political ideology is embedded into core subjects, such as writing and math. Fundamental educational subjects are abandoned, redirecting time and resources to teaching radical ideologies, such as Critical Race Theory. The end result is anti-American, anti-white, and anti-capitalist sentiments amongst students.
Viewpoint Discrimination

Parents’ Rights In Education defends students’ First Amendment rights. The politicalization of K-12 education has resulted in diversity of immutable characteristics having priority over diversity of thought. Punishment for students who share pro-American ideas and values on school grounds, is not uncommon. The radicalization of our schools with the extreme focus on LGBTQ initiatives, systemic racism, and other politicized issues has created an “us” vs. “them” mindset and if a student, teacher, or parent expresses opposition to the increased radicalization of K-12 education, they are marginalized and sometimes cancelled by school administration and leadership. In light of the fact minors cannot vote, this divisive practice is unacceptable in a K-12 school environment.

School Choice

Parents’ Rights In Education understands the connection between parents’ rights and school choice. School choice acknowledges parents as primary stakeholders in their child’s education, recognizing their fundamental right to make informed decisions about where and how their children are educated. School choice options such as public, private, charter, and homeschooling, enables parents to align their child’s unique needs and learning styles with family values. Empowering parents to choose the most suitable educational environment for their children fosters greater parental involvement, student engagement, and ultimately academic success.

Radical Gender Ideology

Parents’ Rights In Education opposes sexualization of children through the promotion of gender identity ideology. This curriculum introduces and promotes having discussions on gender, sexual identity’ pronoun usage, hormone therapy, and medical sex change procedures. Schools host drag queen events, modify students’ pronouns on official documents, provide access to sex change hormones, mental health counseling, and medical treatments, all without parental knowledge or approval. Moreover, there is a growing trend in schools to prioritize gender ideology over reality and the safety of students, by implementing policies allowing males to utilize women’s bathrooms, locker rooms, and compete in women’s sports. Parents want schools to ensure safety for all students by requiring students who compete in sports to use sex-designated facilities corresponding to their biological sex.

Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE)

Parents’ Rights In Education disavows CSE in K-12 schools. Contrary to popular belief, CSE far surpasses teaching students about contraception and venereal disease. Instead, the stated goal of curriculum advocates is to encourage students to experiment with sexual behaviors, and introduce radical gender and sexual ideology beginning in kindergarten. Influenced and promoted by Planned Parenthood International, CSE aims to change traditional sexual and gender norms in society. The premise is minors are “sexual beings” from birth. Curriculum provides detailed graphics and instructions on sexual acts, including anal and oral sex, mutual masturbation, and sexuality lifestyle “options.” CSE is medically inaccurate and lies to children about biological reality.

School-Based Health Clinics: Medical Services and Student Info Without Parent Knowledge or Consent

School-Based Health Clinics (SBHCs) enable local schools to act outside the intended role of education insitutions. State statutes allow SBHCs to provide students health care and medical services, including abortion and vaccines, without parental knowledge or consent. In addition, schools conduct “school climate” surveys, which assess students’ physical, mental, emotional, and social factors. The Gay Lesbian Straight Education Network (GLSEN) created the most prevalent survey to assess schools’ curricula for LGBTQ+ inclusivity. GLSEN also sponsors student clubs promoting sexuality, such as Gender and Sexuality Alliances (GSAs) now operating in all K-12 grade levels. Parental consent is not usually required before schools administer surveys, and club affiliation is kept secret.
