About

About Me:

Mike Soboleski is a born and raised Mainer and lifelong conservative currently representing District 73 in the Maine House of Representatives.
One of seven children, Mike grew up in a two-bedroom house without indoor plumbing. This early experience instilled in Mike a deep sense of resiliency and determination to rise above adversity and to fight for what he believes in.
After graduating from High School, Mike enlisted in the United States Marine Corp, achieving the rank of Corporal. After his service to our nation, Mike attended the University of Maine at Machias on the GI Bill and went on to start and grow a successful fitness equipment servicing business across Maine and New Hampshire. After selling the company, he became a lead sales manager for Puritan Pontiac, GMC, Isuzu.
Later Mike went on to turn a hobby into a career, becoming a feature and background performer, stuntman, precision and stunt driver. Mike performed in hundreds of projects, including episodes of the television series “Law and Order SVU” and feature films including “The Departed”, “War of the Worlds”, “Anger Management”, and 54 commercials and Public Service Announcements including The World Trade Center Memorial Fund and The NY Police and Firefighters Widows and Orphans Fund.
Mike was living and working in New York City on September 11, 2001 when our nation was attacked. While others ran away from Ground Zero, Mike ran towards it to join a team of volunteer First Responders. With his training as a Marine, he was assigned to a NYPD Emergency Services Unit. Mike suffered long-term health effects from his service and joined others in a grassroots effort to advocate for 9/11 survivors and families.
Mike returned to Maine in 2011 where he now lives in Phillips. In 2019 through the pandemic, he ran Maine’s Field Operations for the US Census Bureau’s 2020 Census.  Under Mike’s leadership Maine—a historic underperformer—became the first state in the nation to complete the 2020 Census.
In 2022 Mike was elected Representative for Maine’s 73rd District which includes parts of Franklin, Oxford, and Somerset Counties.
In the State Legislature, Mike serves on the committees for Labor and Housing, Environment and Natural Resources where he’s fought for conservative victories for Maine parents and taxpayers.
To give parents a greater voice, Mike co-sponsored a resolve to prohibit teachers in public schools from engaging in political, ideological, and religious advocacy in the classroom.
He has also fought for legislation to protect and expand retirement benefits for State Employees and Teachers while also sponsoring Legislation to amend the Essential Programs and Services (EPS) funding formula to reduce local taxes.
